I agree entirely with you on this one. We are all spiritual. All humans are spiritual even if you believe in nothing. You are still reminding yourself daily that you are to believe in nothing. With spirituality comes a seeking for the truth but for many unfortunate souls a home made religion. It was the religious that crucified Christ remember. 
Religious people organized the crusades and burnt witches. In the Christian Church today our biggest problem is the religious with their laws. Religious people were behind 9/11. You get my point?
To say I am your enemy is not true. Your biggest enemy may be yourself.

Where do you get off tell ing me what I think or feel, you do not have the first idea of what I think , how anyone else feels, or the experience of the other animals. It is that type of arrogance that makes everything you  try to say meaningless. Yours is not a position of wisdom, it is the parroting of teachers who need to feel superior.

It is that need to feel superior, that only the church, your church, that has the answers and in that there is nothing that separates you from the Muslims. If you believe I would side with you by bringing up your enemies, you sadly missed your mark. I seen only one difference between the Muslim religion and Christianity. Only the wrapper is different. The rot that lies beneath makes you brothers.

My biggest enemy is ignorance, indifference, and malicious control of our social structures. These are the legacy of the church, the perview of the priest, and the fodder of the parishioners.

Yes, you are one of the rare Christians who don't thrust your belief system into one's face within two minutes of initial contact. WTF is that about, anyway? I know the Bible exhorts you to get out there and sell, sell, sell, but really... some subtly would go a long way.

BTW, I have in my lifetime known a few people that were actually Christians, that is, people who attempted to model themselves on Jesus' teachings and managed to STFU about it (and about their religion) unless they were asked. Sadly, though, this is really unusual. Most Christians tend to be the bothersome and often stupid sort or the hypocritical and often stupid variety, or the mixed hypocritical-bothersome-stupid types.

Don't forget the peoples of the Old Testament, as well. The three peoples of the Book, with their petty intercene warfares and rigid belief systems, have been the most destructive set of forces ever unleashed. I believe that Book is inherently bad.

On a different topic, when I watched the Book of Eli, I was hoping they wouldn't get the King James Bible--until I saw on the bookshelf that they already had the  Quran and the Torah. Same difference.

This movie is a visual comic book, so it is preachy in the way that self-righteous comic book writers tend to get, but I could put up with that. There are the usual rather enormous plot holes, but if you take it as a comic book, then you can ignore those things and they at least *try* to knit up the tattered plot by the end. The cinematography is really interesting, the plot is good enough, the acting is all right, even from the ones who can't act very well because the ones that can carry the others well enough. All in all, I enjoyed the movie. I wouldn't *buy* it, but it was a fun afternoon at the movies.

Finally got around to see it, can't believe it's still on the circuit, since I had the whole cinema for myself 
Still not a Road Warrior killer, but much better than most post apocolyptic movies (and I love them all!). The usual plothole that they all share (except maybe for The Postman), where the hell do people keep on finding fuel that still works after 30 years?
The delightfull tale of how a lowly K-Mart employee can become a total bad-ass after Nuclear War (Altough S-Mart's Ash will still kick his ass). Remind me never to piss off anyone that work at a big department store, if they can all shoot as well as Eli you don't want to fuck with them. Highly doubt that every single American, especially in the bible belt will just go and burn theire bibles, even if it did cause the war. But could live with the religous stuff, as Carnegie said, he want it because it's not just a book, it's a weapon to control the weak and the desperate.

Especially loved the "Boy and his dog" Poster in Eli's room  Wonder how many people will get that reference? Only found out about that movie because it was referenced in the Fallout games.

Whether he is a Christian or not is debatable. We can argue this point but in the end it will be our own opinions. Its always best to go back to the Word of God.

I try to be charitable with human failings, but sometimes it is tough. You are so BORING. You are boring in the same way that badly read recorded books are boring. Do you have any original thoughts, or do you have to mine The Book for everything?

This Boodlink is a social predator.

He in on this forum not because he has any connection to the community, not the music, not the humor, not the family. He is here because he believes there are souls to be harvested, that we are weak and vulnerable.

He is neither laughable nor benign. We have been more than tolerant in allowing him to remain, mostly because he is fun to throw sticks and stones at but I think the time to reconsider having one of these ancient predators in our midst. I have no tolerance for bottomfeeders like Bloodlink or his ilk,  we know why he is here. To predate on the young.

I think it is high time society put these predators were they belong. We can start with keeping them from the young.
